About Dr. Roberts
Dr. Tyler Roberts is a Board Certified Optometrist practicing in Port Charlotte and Venice with Community Eye Center and Quigley Eye Specialists. Dr. Roberts made the decision to become an optometrist as a result of his own life experiences. Discovering a passion early in life, he attributes his decision to become an optometrist to the doctor who diagnosed and treated him when he nearly lost his own sight due to a retinal detachment in elementary school.
He obtained his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from University of South Carolina and received a Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee with Honors in Clinical Care. While earning his doctorate, he participated in Remote Area Medical missions, performed local school and nursing home screenings, and volunteered at the Special Olympics.
Dr. Roberts completed his residency in ocular disease and low vision at the VA in Lexington, KY, with a concentration in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease with an emphasis in specialty contact lens care.
