Treating Dry Eye with Advanced Technology Under Careful Medical Care.

Dry eye occurs when the meibomian glands in the eyelids don’t secrete enough oil into the tears. As a result, the glands become clogged, reducing the flow of liquids on the surface of the eye. The traditional way to unclog these glands is to apply high heat compresses and put pressure on the glands – a process that can be very painful.

At the Dry Eye Spa, our team uses advanced technology to massage the eye area with 108-degree thermal heat. This melts away the waxy deposits in the glands and applies enough pressure to the eyelid to open the glands.

LipiFlow® Thermal Pulsation System: A New Dry Eye Treatment.

Thirty million Americans suffer from Meibomian gland dysfunction, which causes the majority of dry eye cases. Learn how the LipiFlow® Thermal Pulsation System can help address it—in the blink of an eye. The treatment is not painful and takes no more than 15 minutes.

LipiFlow® utilizes Vectored Thermal Pulsation technology and a patented algorithm of precise heat that is applied to the inner eyelids with directed gentle massage to remove blockages from the meibomian glands (oil glands). This treatment is designed to restore the natural oil flow to the tear film that covers the eye’s surface.

BlephEx® is the First and Only Medical Eyelid Cleaning Procedure to Help Maintain Clean & Healthy Lids

BlephEx® is a revolutionary new patented treatment using a hand piece to very precisely and carefully deep clean your lid margins. The treatment consists of your doctor using the BlephEx® tool that spins a medical grade micro-sponge along the edge of your eyelids and lashes, removing scurf and debris and exfoliating your eyelids.

The treatment is performed under 15 minutes and dose not hurt. Patients often remark on how it tickles their nose or sinuses. This treatment is most suggested when a buildup of bacteria called Blepharitis is present. These bacteria cause blockages in your oil glands and prevents oil from getting into your tears.
